This photo, blurry subject and all, really fills me with serenity. I like how the stick doesn’t draw attention away from the abstract shapes of the sand and water.
The photo was taken at Walden Pond in Concord, MA. The sun had just set over the trees across the pond, yielding the great lighting that sets the mood for the photo.

I agree, this is a peaceful shot, but not only because of the subject matter – the subdued lighting really helps too.
