Light Rain
Canon 300D , EF 17-40/4.0L USM @ 17mm , f/20 , 1/25s , ISO 400
One of the first shots taken with my new 17-40mm f/4.0L lens. The wide-angle really makes this wet lantern stand out against the sea of early spring lawn. Water is so great to photograph. Too bad it’s not so great for camera bodies and lenses.

I wrote a short text inspired by this photo:
The soft floor and the walls of the dojo were white. In the corners hung great white chinese lanterns. In the middle of the wall hung a Japanese saying.
One by one people bowed and entered the dojo. They took off their slippers at the door and put them neatly in a row on the dark wooden floor. The cool people had bamboo slippers.
I trained with a new aikikai. I said:Wait, youre doing it wrong.
The sensei stood before the sun. Red curls formed a halo. Blue eyes. We would walk hand in hand in a Japanese garden. A lantern of metal and glass.
He said:No, youre doing it wrong.
