Purple Heart

purplejpg

Canon 300D , EF 17-40/4.0L USM @ 29mm , f/4.0 , 1/60s , ISO 400 , RAW , Flash + Soft Box

Purple is this week’s ThemeThursday challenge. This shot just melts purple to me, for obvious reasons. And lots of love to my wife for being both a beautiful, and patient, model. Hopefully it won’t be the last time!

The harsh light in this photo really makes the purples stand out. It made my lovely model a lot more pale and eerie than she normally looks! Also avoiding the standard portrait soft-focus gives an edge here that I like.

Wow! the color purple is a beautiful color made more beautiful with your wife as the model. (how can she be so patient to stand in for such a role?)

Your title is so apt. i was expecting a medal or sorts, but you have here your best medal of all! congrats.

Lovely shot of a lovely model! By the way, I, too, would have liked less shadow and more color saturation in my photo, but all I have to work with is a very cheap digital camera. :(

Nice photo. Is that really the color of a wall in your house? Very bold!

  10. Will Koffel Says:

Yes, Brian, it is a wall in our house, in fact. :-) But actually the wall is more of an eggplant color. Under the cool lights I was using, it really brought out the purple, and played-down the warmer reds in the wall. So it’s not quite as bold as that, but still the boldest color in the house!
