Geek Bookshelf

Canon 300D , EF 100/2.8 Macro USM , f/2.8 , 1/320s , ISO 400 , RAW

A rather geeky bookshelf. I disavow any knowledge of who owns those books. ;-) This was a test shot with my new 100mm Macro lens which turned out more interesting than I expected. I also took the chance to experiment with NeatImage on multiple layers, with blending modes. Definitely have a lot to learn about those techniques, but these results were a good start.

Canon 300D , EF 100/2.8 Macro USM , f/22 , 1/4s , ISO 100 , RAW

Twins. So similar, but clearly different, distinguishable, and unique.

Drop of Cream

drop-of-cream.jpg

Canon 300D , EF 70-200/2.8L IS USM + Extension Tube EF25 II @200mm , f/11 , 1/5s , ISO 400 , RAW , Flash fired at 10Hz 1/128 power.

Tried here to recreate a classic stopped motion photo. Had the flash fire rapidly in succession to catch the drop, since I didn’t have a good trigger mechanism. (oh, and it’s actually milk, not cream, but cream sounds better…don’t tell anyone!)

This was entered for the theme of stopped motion at DPChallenge.

Ivory Touch

Canon 300D , EF 17-40/4.0L USM @ 30mm , f/16 , 13s , ISO 100 , RAW

A ghostly shot of the ivory touch. This was an entry for the DPChallenge theme touch.

Yes, those are my hands, and yes, they are slightly transparent. The shutter was open for 13 seconds. My hands were on the keys for about 9 seconds, which yields this look.

Three Brews

Canon 300D , EF 50/1.4 USM , f/22 , 10s , ISO 100 , RAW

A first experiment with light painting. These are three beers from the Unibroue brewery in Canada. Beautiful bottles that I thought would look haunting in this lighting style.
